Titan sends us some pics of their new “Over-the-top” bimini

Monday, August 11th, 2008

You may remember the story we did a little while back — Titan introduces their innovative bimini – without pictures?.  We were pretty critical of their newest release.  Well, the boys at Titan came through and sent us some pics of their new “over-the-top” bimini.  Of course the Stallone movie poster wasn’t in the media packet they sent us, but when we’re talking about “Over The Top” I couldn’t resist.

Many of our questions seem answered when looking at the pics.  The build quality seems top-notch as we’d expect from Titan, and the different design doesn’t seem goofy-looking at all.  We remember Titan as being one of the first manufacturers to break the mold on wakeboard towers with a “different” innovative design several years back.  It is good to see they are still looking for ways to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack, and try to create new-functionality that actually upgrades the product instead of just selling a gimmick.

OK, so if you haven’t seen the Stallone movie “Over The Top”, what are you waiting for?  Go and see it immediately (pure gold).  And if you haven’t seen Titan’s version of “over-the-top” peep the pictures below.

Titan introduces their innovative bimini – without pictures?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

So Titan has announced their “over-the-top” bimini for their Titan-branded wakeboard boat towers.  The concept seems great, since it allows boat passengers to move back and forth around the boat without having to duck down under the bimini due to decreased head space.  BUT, with the good comes bad…  First off, the higher the bimini, usually the less amount of shade it provides.  Not to mention, what is this thing going to look like?  Am I going to be riding around with a “wart” of a bimini cover of a boat, or is this thing going to look the part?  Since I found no pictures in the press release [which I was reading on wakeboarder.com], I set out to the titan website [titanwake.com] to gawk at the new product.  Of course, I wasn’t able to find any mention of it.  So, my concerns go unanswered.  Funny, when you make a press release about a new product that based purely on new cosmetics, you’d thing you would have a photo or two, huh? If someone from Titan wants to submit some pictures of this sucker, we’ll be more than happy to post them.
