Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Wake Awards 07Surf Expo wasn’t the only thing going on this past weekend. WakeBoarding Magazine’s 4th annual Wake Awards took place this past Friday immediately following the first day of Surf Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

The event started off with some industry recognition awards like Manufacturer of the Year and Retailer of the Year before moving on to the main 13 awards known as The Wake Awards.

Rusty Malinoski and Brian Grubb took the top spots as Best Wakeboarder and Best Wakeskater. Move of the Year was no big surprise with Chad Sharpe taking it with his sick Double Indy Toeside Back Roll. Best Women’s Rider put Amber Wing on top once again, adding another accolade to add to her impressive resume.

Surf Expo 2007 is now complete. Let the coverage begin!

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Surf Expo 2007 Title BarSurf Expo 2007 has finished it’s invasion of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The past weekend was the equivalent to “New Years Day” for the wake industry. Almost all of the new 2008 products were unveiled for the first time. For many of the big companies, it is a chance to really shine and show why they are on top. For the smaller guys, this is their big chance to make some noise and break into the industry with a big bang.

We caught up with most of the top manufacturers and got the skinny on their new line of products. We also were able to corner some of the top pros and most influential people in the industry and force them to do a video interview with us. I think when it is all said and done, we secured about 30 or so video interviews. Keep checking back with DailyWake over the next few days, because we’ll be releasing more and more content on the event.
