2009 National Championships Venues Announced

USA Wakeboard LogoPolk City, Fl (April 10, 2009) ~ USA Wakeboard announced the 2009 National Championships event dates and locations today. The Board, Surf and Cable Nationals will be hosted in the Dayton / Cincinnati, OH MetroAreas. This years events will be threefold, and will not only combine the 11th Annual USA Wakeboard Nationals with the 4th Annual Grassroots Wakeboard Nationals but will also add the new sports of Cable and WakeSurf. Partners include, Five Rivers MetroParks, Cable Wake Parks, WakeNation and Rexin.

Dayton Ohio and Fiver Rivers MetroParks will host WakeBoard and WakeSurf and return to Eastwood Lake MetroPark. Fairfield Ohio will host Cable at the all new WakeNation Cable Park and is located just 35 miles away from Eastwood Lake.

All three Championships will air on NBC Universal Sports, the preeminent multiplatform destination for Olympic-related sports programming. In a recent press release dated 2-17-09 NBCUS expanded to 45 million television households and is now available in eight of the top 10 DMAs including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco and Washington, D.C The latest expansion includes launches in the first quarter in Houston, Miami, Seattle, Denver, Portland, Indianapolis, Salt Lake City and Jacksonville.

Up for grabs is the selection for Team USA at 2009 IWSF World Championship in Chuncheon, Korea from August 24 - 29, 2009. Performance in both the Pan American Championship at Board-Up and USA WakeBoard Nationals along with current ranking with IWSF will be criteria for selection of Team USA.

2009 WWA Wake Park World Series dates and locations announced!

WakeParkWorldSeriesThe World Wakeboard Association is proud to announce the dates and locations for the 2009 WWA Wake Park World Series (WPWS). This is the second year of the groundbreaking series brought to you by the WWA, with events at wake parks all across the globe. In 2009, the series will boast five events in separate countries across three continents.

The WWA has partnered with the biggest and most prestigious events in each region of the world, making the WWA Wake Park World Series (WPWS) the most legitimate international wake park series to date. With over $200,000 in total prize money for the series, riders will be battling it out all year to become the overall WWA Wake Park World Series Champion.

Collegiate Nationals to Showcase Top Teams and Action at 2008 Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals

(Boulder, CO) - The nation’s top 15 collegiate wakeboarding teams will battle it out at the 2008 Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals from Boulder, Colo., May 16-18. For the third consecutive year, the Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals is part of CBS College Sports Network’s COLLEGIATE NATIONALS, a festival of events that crowns national champions in 11 categories. Malibu Boats serves as the official towboat for the event. The event will be held at the Boulder Reservoir and admission is free.

Extensive television coverage of the Collegiate Nationals kicks-off with a special one-hour program airing on CBS Sports on Sunday, May 25 (2:00 PM, ET). The show will launch eight consecutive days of Olympic-style programming on CBS College Sports Network, followed by individual sport highlight shows.

Wake Games and Nationals Are Back in 2008

Winter Park, Fla. – The most prestigious and exciting professional wakeboarding series in the world, the King of Wake World Cup, is back for another thrilling year of highflying water-sports action in 2008. World Sports & Marketing, the organizing body for the series, announced today that the Air Nautique Wake Games and the Air Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships will both be featured in the series for the 2008 season.

The Air Nautique Wake Games will again be held in Orlando, Fla., at the Orlando Watersports Complex. The four-day water-sports contest is slated for April 24-27, 2008.
