HOW TO: Preparing for wakeboard competitions

DailyWake LogoThe wakeboard season is approaching, and along with it comes a handful of competitions.  Along with the Pro events that take place all around the world, there is almost certainly an amateur competition in your area (your “area” might be across the street or across a few states, depending on how large your local wakeboard populace is).  As many of you know, our sister site LearnWake.com gives our members all sorts of wakeboarding instructional videos, tips, etc.  They even have a bulletin board there where professional coaches will answer your questions.  One question that seems to be popping up on LearnWake is “How to prepare for a wakeboard competition.”  I figured I’d roll this answer into a DailyWake post, so everyone can get a little insight on these strategies.

Wakeboarding isn’t immune to Twittering

twitterificSeveral wakeboard companies have jumped on board the Twitter train. If you haven’t heard of Twitter, you will.  It has been growing in popularity for a while now, and within the last year it seems to be growing exponentially.  Essentially for those of you that aren’t in the know, Twitter is a way of posting short updates of what you are up to.  Updates can be as simple as “I’m enjoying a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee” (which, I actually am doing while typing this).

So, who is on Twitter?  Well, I don’t have an extensive list, but here are a few I know…

The rebirth of DailyWake!

For those of you that have been following DailyWake, you’ve probably ntoiced many changes to the website over the past few days.  DailyWake was the first website we created under The Wake Network.  We are also responsible for LearnWake, which is our instructional website.  After picking up momentum with DailyWake last summer, we all but abandoned this poor site to develop LearnWake.  Now LearnWake has been up and running smoothly for a few months now, we are ready to show a reknewed focus on this website. LearnWake.com Free Public BETA is now open (until April 1st)!

Clermont, FL – The production team that created the best-selling DVD instructional series “The Book” has just released their new project to the public – LearnWake.com. WakeBoarding Magazine’s instructional editor, Kyle Schmidt, has once again teamed up with Mike McLin to bring the next revolution in wake instruction. Through their new website, the LearnWake.com team will bring interactive instruction through the use of videos, an online instructional library, bulletin boards and chat rooms.

The free public BETA period is a test period where all of the last minute kinks are worked out to get the website ready for its official April 1st launch. On April 1st, LearnWake will become a premium subscription-based website with a monthly fee. The free public BETA is open to everyone, and users can cancel at anytime.
