Oklahoma City, Okla. — Action-sports fans can now stay in loop with the world’s premier wakeboarding circuit, the King of Wake series, by joining Loop’d, an action-sports social networking website.

The King of Wake series has created a profile page on www.Loopd.com, which features news and information on upcoming events, photos and a Comments section dedicated to fans who wish to post messages.

Fans, athletes, sponsors and wakeboarding enthusiast can checkout the King of Wake’s profile page on Loop’d by visiting www.loopd.com/Members/kingofwake.

Add the King of Wake as a friend on Loop’d before 12 p.m. noon on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 and you will automatically be entered to win Rockstar Energy Drink team rider Rusty Malinoski’s 2008 Hyperlite “Marek” wakeboard. The winner of the “Marek” wakeboard will be announced on Sept. 7, 2008 LIVE on FUEL TV’s webcast of the Rockstar Energy Drink WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by Supra.

Defending Pro Team Challenge champs, Team Hyperlite, will try to continue their reign at this year’s event on August 16-17th.  The 3-part event will take place at Silver Lake Executive Resort in Eatonville, WA.  The 3 tiers of the event include Saturday’s traditional wakeboard pass, pool-to-lake rail jam later that evening, and then a double-up showdown on Sunday.  $25,000 is up for grabs so all of the big guns will be there trying to not only take the title, but the bounty that comes with it.

Same ole’ booth, tons of new product. Despite impressing patrons with a flashy new booth Hyperlite decided to stick with the same booth from last year and relied on impressing them with three new board series and completely redesigned bindings for the 2007 surf expo.

A small booth makes a huge impression this year for Byerly Boards. For its second year Scott Byerly and his board division of Hyperlite has really let the wake industry know that they are serious about their place in both the wakeboard and wakeskate market.

It seems that very prominent skate and snow brands are finally getting the picture when it comes to recognizing the growth of the wake industry. Bern Helmets is yet another helmet company looking for a piece of our pie. Bern is know for their stylish designs and has taken some of their best selling snow and skate helmets and adapted them to water application.
