Orlando, Fla. – The world’s elite pro wakeboarding circuit, the King of Wake series, has officially joined Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports. The series organizer, World Sports & Marketing, announced today its partnership with Alli – a company owned by NBC and MTV Networks dedicated to bringing together the best properties, athletes and brands globally for the fans of action sports.

The King of Wake’s partnership with Alli includes online rights, sponsorship sales, marketing and promotion. All King of Wake events will continue to air on the FUEL TV network.

“We are thrilled to be partnered with the premier wakeboarding property within action sports,” said Wade Martin, President of Alli. “King of Wake, along with FUEL TV, have created an outstanding television package. Orlando, Fla. - Action-sports fans can catch all the high-flying, rail-sliding water-sports action of pro wakeboarding from the comfort of their home, as FUEL TV is set to air the seventh contest of the 2008 King of Wake series, the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour stop in Reno, Nev. The final Tour stop of the year, will premier on Tuesday, September 23 at 8:00 pm ET. (5:00 pm Pacific Time), and will re-air two more times throughout September.

The world’s top riders are geared-up to battle it out on the waters of Sparks Marina in Reno for cash, points and pride.

Tune in to FUEL TV Sept. 23 to watch the exciting conclusion of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour and see who rides away with a win in Reno and the Tour titles. The 2008 Tour titlists will receive the Indmar Performance Award, a $10,000 bonus to the top-points earner in the Pro Men’s Division, a $5,000 prize for the Pro Women’s Division winner and $1,000 for the Jr. Men’s Division champion.

Action-sports fans are now free to go mobile and still catch all the action of the 2008 King of Wake series anywhere, anytime, as full-length episodes are now available on Apple iTunes for fans viewing pleasure. Oklahoma City, Okla. — Fans packed the shorelines of the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City today to witness the final rounds of the 2008 Rockstar Energy Drink WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by Supra.

As expected, the defending world champ Phillip Soven, 19, of Longwood, Fla. reached the Pro Men’s division finals today and as the top-seeded rider. But the pressure of retaining his title got the best of Soven, as the Florida native posted a score of 82.00, landing him in third-place.
Taking the top spot in the six-man final and claiming the 2008 world title was Rusty Malinoski, 24, of Humboldt, Sask., who became the first Canadian rider to win the world title since Jeremy Kovak claimed it in 1997. Fellow Canadian rider Aaron Rathy of Nanaimo, B.C. finished the contest in second-place.

Fuel TV is trying to pull off their first live webcast at this year’s WWA Wakeboard Worlds event (September 5-7).  They are claiming tons of preliminary content as well.  The whole webcast (which lasts through the weekend) promises to be over 24 hours long.  Fuel TV is trying to make it an interactive experience by allowing you to email the commentators (Nick and Dano) during the webcast.

The execution of the webcast should be interesting…  I’m not sure how exciting or fresh they can keep this thing.  For anyone that has been to a pro wakeboard event, there is a lot of downtime.  I guess only time will tell, regardless it sure beats waiting for their November 10th telecast.
