Wakeboarding isn’t immune to Twittering

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

twitterificSeveral wakeboard companies have jumped on board the Twitter train. If you haven’t heard of Twitter, you will.  It has been growing in popularity for a while now, and within the last year it seems to be growing exponentially.  Essentially for those of you that aren’t in the know, Twitter is a way of posting short updates of what you are up to.  Updates can be as simple as “I’m enjoying a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee” (which, I actually am doing while typing this).

So, who is on Twitter?  Well, I don’t have an extensive list, but here are a few I know…

I’m sure there are a ton more on there.  If you know of anyone else, leave a comment, and I’ll add them to the list.

The rebirth of DailyWake!

Friday, July 25th, 2008

For those of you that have been following DailyWake, you’ve probably ntoiced many changes to the website over the past few days.  DailyWake was the first website we created under The Wake Network.  We are also responsible for LearnWake, which is our instructional website.  After picking up momentum with DailyWake last summer, we all but abandoned this poor site to develop LearnWake.  Now LearnWake has been up and running smoothly for a few months now, we are ready to show a reknewed focus on this website. DailyWake heading to Dew Rail Jam - Promises cake…

Friday, October 19th, 2007

AST Dew TourSo, we [we - meaning...Kyle] are heading to the Dew Rail Jam tonight at Amway Arena in Orlando, FL. We got media permission to video and photograph the event. Hopefully, we’ll [once again, just Kyle] get some cool slow-mo footage with our HVX200 camera. I’m still not sure how Kyle is going to shoot video footage of the event, organize and shoot interviews, take pictures, and dump memory cards onto his laptop when they fill all at one time. It should be interesting. I’d help out, but I’m on girlfriend birthday duty….yikes. So, we should have something for you on here in the next couple of days. Keep checking back. The cake is not a lie. [Editors note: the cake comment is for my fellow Half Life Portal players].

What is RSS, and why should you care?

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

RSS FeedsOK, if you already know about RSS Feeds then you can move on to the next story. For the rest of you that are still reading this, I am going to possibly change the way you browse the internet forever. I am talking about RSS Feeds. You’ve probably heard of RSS or have seen the orange logo over there on the right on another website. I’m going to explain what RSS is all about and why you should be using it. First off, what are RSS Feeds?

Surf Expo 2007 is now complete. Let the coverage begin!

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Surf Expo 2007 Title BarSurf Expo 2007 has finished it’s invasion of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The past weekend was the equivalent to “New Years Day” for the wake industry. Almost all of the new 2008 products were unveiled for the first time. For many of the big companies, it is a chance to really shine and show why they are on top. For the smaller guys, this is their big chance to make some noise and break into the industry with a big bang.

We caught up with most of the top manufacturers and got the skinny on their new line of products. We also were able to corner some of the top pros and most influential people in the industry and force them to do a video interview with us. I think when it is all said and done, we secured about 30 or so video interviews. Keep checking back with DailyWake over the next few days, because we’ll be releasing more and more content on the event.

ShareWake BETA is Launched!

Friday, August 31st, 2007

ShareWake Logo 480px wideThe ShareWake BETA [externallink] has finally launched. For those of you not geeky enough to know, BETA means that we are currently in an almost finalized ‘test’ mode. Since the website is community based and driven, it is hard to make all of the final refinements until people start populating the website.

So what is ShareWake? Well, it is basically just like YouTube [externallink]. ShareWake is a place for you (or anyone) to post their videos, and view other people’s videos. The site is designed to be “wake-related”. In other words, the site was designed to be a source for people to put their wake-related videos. But that’s just the beginning.

We will be providing a lot of exclusive content from riding clips to news stories and even some event coverage. The ShareWake site will go hand in hand with our DailyWake site as well. This fusion of the two sites will be even more apparent when we cover both the 2007 Surf Expo and Wake Awards this September. We will cover these events with both our DailyWake and ShareWake websites. With the birth of ShareWake, we should be able to take our news coverage to the next level.

Stay tuned for more details.

Friday, August 31st, 2007

DailyWake LogoAfter a little time off, DailyWake is back on track. We’ve been hard at work building our sister site ShareWake.com [externallink]. Now ShareWake is officially launched into beta (test) mode. There will be small refinements here and there, but overall the site is officially up and running.

More information on ShareWake and how it will integrate into DailyWake in the near future.

DailyWake 1st post!

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

DailyWake LogoHere is the first DailyWake post! We’ve created this website/blog to be the leading news aggregate for the wake industry. We’ve been waiting for a website like this to come along for the past years, and after waiting we have decided to just create it ourselves. Our goal is for this to be your one-stop hub for all wake-related news. Another goal of this website is to bring the wake community together through comments, voting and other interactive features. This news blog contains many of the features you’ll find in other modern blog sites. Here is a rundown of the some of the features you’ll encounter here on DailyWake…
