Yet another generous offer by a boat company allows us and then you access to pictures of Mastercrafts 2008 line of X series boats. Director of Marketing John Behling slipped us the link after an interview at surf expo so we could post almost every detail right down to the drain plug changes. Browse through their broad range of different size wake vessels, accessory changes, and graphic stylings. We even included photos of a non-X-Series model which is one of their salt water releases because we heard it is a pretty sweet wake boat.

Correct Craft looks to “revolutionize” the wake industry with the first ever CEO blog. I’m not sure if this is really a revolution or just an evolution. Eventually you figured the blogging world, which has been exploding in every other industry, would eventually trickle into wake. Of course, DailyWake is a blog, but I guess manufacturer blogsites are still somewhat rare.

Slingshot is gaining momentum. During the Surf Expo hoopla, a lot of readers have spoken out about Slingshot’s innovative products. Now the company gives them even more to talk about by signing Jeff House to their Pro team. Jeff joins Jeff McKee on an increasingly impressive team. There is no doubt in my mind that they are going to go after Jeff Weatherall and Jeff Heer next to complete their Jeff monopoly [editors note: OK, that was corny, I know].

Over the past few weeks we’ve been releasing content covering Surf Expo 2007. This was the very 1st event that DailyWake has ever covered, and we were pretty happy with the results. In this final entry, we’ll let you know everything we covered and give you links to it as well. Think of this wrap-up story as a table of contents or index of all the content we covered during Surf Expo 2007.

UGP further solidifies itself in the wake market with yet another strong lineup of soft goods, shoes and accessories that are meant to get wet, not dirty. The cutting-edge clothing company has always had it’s roots planted deep into the BMX community, but it is nice to see that their wake line is just as comfortable, stylish, and innovative.

This is one of two companies that gave us access to their pictures from this years 2008 marketing shoots. Check out the galleries to see both lines offered by Skier’s Choice which manufactures Supra and Moomba Inboard boats. With the two companies combined they rank number three in the market and definitely have something that will fit your needs and hopefully your budget whether its deep or shallow.

Mastercraft had one of the biggest boat booths at Surf Expo showing the industry that they are still one of the top manufacturers. They were segregated with wake on one side of the aisle and waterskiing on the other showing further separation between the two sports than years past. There wasn’t much new at expo as far as models, but aesthetically the boats were even more dressed up than last. Director of Marketing John Behling sat down in front of this years cool graphics on the X Star to give us a small scoop on whats new for 2008.

Boardstock Promotions [Press Release]
OCTOBER 5, 2007
LAKEPORT, CA, BoardStock XII culminated the five-stop World Wakeboarding Association’s World Series with Phillip Soven being crowned the Series Champion behind the power of the Centurion Enzo boat. BoardStock is the world’s largest extreme water sports event in Northern America. Now in its twelfth year BoardStock has been a part of the WWA World Series for three years. Shawn Perry of the WWA said, “This was the first year that Boardstock has culminated the WWA World Series, and it ended with Phillip Soven becoming the first rider in WWA World Series history to win all five stops. Phillip has been riding unbelievably well all season and he made it look easy once again at Boardstock XII. Soven’s heroics netted him a $19,000 dollar payday – not bad a day’s work for the seventeen year-old phenom.

You would assume after decades of watersports, handles and ropes would become dull and stagnant. Well, each year companies are finding new innovations that help revolutionize the life-line that connects you to your vessel. Straightline is towards the top of the food chain with their new innovative handle technologies. For 2008, Straightline has a new logo and a new look, but when you look deeper into their product-line you’ll notice that aesthetics aren’t the only changes for 2008.
