For anyone that has been out to Tempe Town Lake this last week, they may have noticed something new. If you peer across to the north side of the lake, you can catch a glimpse of what will become the center piece of the largest wakeboard event to hit Arizona. In addition to the show-stopping line up that Tempe Music Festival has put together, Red Bull has invited the top wakeboarders from across the United States to attend Wake Lab. With the success of last years event in Orlando, Red Bull is ready to see what Arizona has to offer. The spectator-friendly lake has been the location of many large events over the years, and it will prove to be a prime location to expose the rapid growing sport to a new croud. This event is putting Arizona’s wakeboard scene on the map and should open up the door for many who may be new to the sport.

(Merced, CA) – Dealers plan to put their Malibu boats where their mouths are across the nation on May 2nd. These dealers are demonstrating the truth on the water and exposing boat buyers to 2009 Malibu models and innovations first hand. Attendees will have the opportunity to test 2009 models like the new Wakesetter VLX, 21 vRide, 23 vRide and Response FXi as well as the Patented Power Wedge, the new 6.5-inch Color MaliView Dash System and Rider Presets. On May 2nd the truth is on the water all across the nation. On this date Authorized Malibu Boats Dealers will be assembling fleets of ’09 Malibu boats at lakes throughout the United States. These boats are not just for show. The Malibu Truth is on the Water Demo Day is a chance to experience your Malibu Boats model and/or innovation of choice, up close and personal.

Malibu Dealers will take this opportunity to strengthen existing customer relationships and create some new ones. Dealership representatives will be available to answer questions, facilitate a demonstration or allow new boat buyers to explore and drive the Malibu models on their own. All of this exploration will happen in close proximity to refreshments so participants can replenish after the jaw-dropping Malibu Boats experience.

The CamSur Watersports Complex just released a party schedule for the upcoming Wake Park World Series event that’ll be going down over there later this March.  The event is in the Philippines, so if you are stateside and are planning on driving over there in your new Malibu 23 vRide, you might want to empty your ballast tanks to save money on gas.

Deep in the homeland of Mirko CroCop, the wakeboard community BoardForce was celebrating their 3rd birthday.  They were nice enough to send us a video and over 300 pics! So after examining the photos, I’ve gone through the normal party check list…

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (September 13, 2008) – Following up Red Bulls impressive, and well funded, Wake Lab event on Lake Eola Saturday night in Orlando would be a tall order for anyone, but 19 year old pro wakeboarder Kyle Alberts and the crew from Step Up Productions took on the challenge and made history with a 50 foot ramp-to-ramp wakeboard jump over a 40 foot bus using portable pools and a high-speed gas-powered winch. The stunt took place right after midnight at the Wall Street Plaza complex in downtown Orlando. A jump of this caliber involving a high-speed winch is believed to be the first of its kind, and the distance Alberts cleared is record-breaking.

“It feels awesome,” said Alberts. “I’m so stoked that I had this opportunity and that everything came together so well.”

Maryville, TN (August 27, 2008) ~ The WWA’s most prestigious event of the year, the Rockstar WWA Wakeboard World Championships presented by Supra opens at its new location next week in downtown Oklahoma City’s Oklahoma River.
