Polk City, Fl (April 10, 2009) ~ USA Wakeboard announced the 2009 National Championships event dates and locations today. The Board, Surf and Cable Nationals will be hosted in the Dayton / Cincinnati, OH MetroAreas. This years events will be threefold, and will not only combine the 11th Annual USA Wakeboard Nationals with the 4th Annual Grassroots Wakeboard Nationals but will also add the new sports of Cable and WakeSurf. Partners include, Five Rivers MetroParks, Cable Wake Parks, WakeNation and Rexin.

Dayton Ohio and Fiver Rivers MetroParks will host WakeBoard and WakeSurf and return to Eastwood Lake MetroPark. Fairfield Ohio will host Cable at the all new WakeNation Cable Park and is located just 35 miles away from Eastwood Lake.

All three Championships will air on NBC Universal Sports, the preeminent multiplatform destination for Olympic-related sports programming. In a recent press release dated 2-17-09 NBCUS expanded to 45 million television households and is now available in eight of the top 10 DMAs including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco and Washington, D.C The latest expansion includes launches in the first quarter in Houston, Miami, Seattle, Denver, Portland, Indianapolis, Salt Lake City and Jacksonville.

Up for grabs is the selection for Team USA at 2009 IWSF World Championship in Chuncheon, Korea from August 24 – 29, 2009. Performance in both the Pan American Championship at Board-Up and USA WakeBoard Nationals along with current ranking with IWSF will be criteria for selection of Team USA.

Orlando, Fla. – The King of Wake series, the world’s elite pro wakeboarding circuit, is set to kick off a brand-new season of high-flying, rail-sliding, water-sports action as World Sports & Marketing, the series organizer, today announces the complete schedule for the 2009 season.

The 2009 series features eight stops throughout the United States and more than $300,000 in prize money over the eight-event season. Athletes compete during the course of the year to be named the “King of Wake” – an award based on points accumulated at each stop of the series. Events included in the 2009 series are: the Wake Games, the WWA Wakeboard National Championships, the WWA Wakeboard World Championships and all five stops on the Pro Wakeboard Tour.

For anyone that has been out to Tempe Town Lake this last week, they may have noticed something new. If you peer across to the north side of the lake, you can catch a glimpse of what will become the center piece of the largest wakeboard event to hit Arizona. In addition to the show-stopping line up that Tempe Music Festival has put together, Red Bull has invited the top wakeboarders from across the United States to attend Wake Lab. With the success of last years event in Orlando, Red Bull is ready to see what Arizona has to offer. The spectator-friendly lake has been the location of many large events over the years, and it will prove to be a prime location to expose the rapid growing sport to a new croud. This event is putting Arizona’s wakeboard scene on the map and should open up the door for many who may be new to the sport.

Spring is finally here! The sun is shining, the weather is finally warming up, and I know many of you are getting antsy to dust off the board and hit the water. Well we are too, and thanks to our friends at Dragon Alliance, we’ll also be looking a lot cooler this summer!
