Spring is finally here! The sun is shining, the weather is finally warming up, and I know many of you are getting antsy to dust off the board and hit the water. Well we are too, and thanks to our friends at Dragon Alliance, we’ll also be looking a lot cooler this summer!

These new collabo’s shades are the design of the summer! DailyWake LogoThe wakeboard season is approaching, and along with it comes a handful of competitions.  Along with the Pro events that take place all around the world, there is almost certainly an amateur competition in your area (your “area” might be across the street or across a few states, depending on how large your local wakeboard populace is).  As many of you know, our sister site LearnWake.com gives our members all sorts of wakeboarding instructional videos, tips, etc.  They even have a bulletin board there where professional coaches will answer your questions.  One question that seems to be popping up on LearnWake is “How to prepare for a wakeboard competition.”  I figured I’d roll this answer into a DailyWake post, so everyone can get a little insight on these strategies.

Engadget shows Epic Wake Boats some love

EngadgetOK, you’ve probably already heard about the upcoming hybrid wakeboard boat coming out from Epic. The usual suspects have covered the story.  Well, I was surprised to find that in addition to the wakeboard press, Engadget also covered the story.  Engadget is a blog that I read daily that focuses on tech stuff…you know like computers, cell phones, electronics, etc.  They are also one of the top 5 biggest blogs in the world.  Epic Boats really maximized their exposure with that story.  Even better, the tune was very positive from Engadget when talking about the upcoming vessel.  That is a HUGE win for Epic.  Congrats on the exposure…

Wakeboarding isn’t immune to Twittering

twitterificSeveral wakeboard companies have jumped on board the Twitter train. If you haven’t heard of Twitter, you will.  It has been growing in popularity for a while now, and within the last year it seems to be growing exponentially.  Essentially for those of you that aren’t in the know, Twitter is a way of posting short updates of what you are up to.  Updates can be as simple as “I’m enjoying a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee” (which, I actually am doing while typing this).

So, who is on Twitter?  Well, I don’t have an extensive list, but here are a few I know…

125-wkb0509_billabong_pyleSo, I was browsing through the internet for some DailyWake material this morning, and I was abuptly met with a photo of a girl sporting a wakeboard vest and not much else.  Obviously I am not above clicking on the image and taking a look at what’s inside.  I eventually learned that WBM has created a 2009 vest gallery filled with girls modeling the new gear.  I’m not sure what demographic they were trying to appeal to…  BUT, I know I’m in it.  Well done.

The King of Wake Series Joins Alli

The series organizer, World Sports & Marketing, announced today its partnership with Alli – a company owned by NBC and MTV Networks dedicated to bringing together the best properties, athletes and brands globally for the fans of action sports.

The King of Wake’s partnership with Alli includes online rights, sponsorship sales, marketing and promotion. All King of Wake events will continue to air on the FUEL TV network.
