Malibu Shifts Focus from Cypress Gardens to Malibu Open
Malibu Boats recently announced their decision to move on from their status as official tow boat of Cypress Gardens and dedicate their energy and resources to the 2008 Malibu Open.
(Merced, CA) - Malibu Boats announced Thursday their intention to pass on the renewal of the Cypress Gardens official tow boat sponsorship for the 2008 season. Malibu has decided to focus their energy and resources, in the world of water sports, on the upcoming 2008 Malibu Open slated to go off in Michigan this summer.
Malibu Boats has towed the Cypress Gardens Ski and Board Show since 2005. In that time Malibu boats were featured exclusively in the Cypress Gardens shows. The excitement and durability of the Malibu boats line-up re-energized the historic Cypress Gardens ski show and, for a time, brought back its glory.
When asked about the relationship with Cypress Garden and Malibu’s decision to move on, Paul Singer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Malibu Boats, had this to say, “We enjoyed our time with Cypress Gardens but considering the recent stability and demographics of the park we decided our energy, resources and attention would be better directed toward the exciting Malibu Open event taking place in Michigan this Summer.”
Over 4000 hours were put on the flawless performing Malibu line-up at Cypress Gardens, a testimony to the longevity and performance characteristics of the top water sports builder in the world.
“We enjoyed our relationship with Kent Bischer and Cypress Gardens and we wish the new leadership the best of luck,” added Singer.
