2007 – The year of the Soven massacre

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Well, it’s been in the books for a while now, but Phillip Soven has officially been crowned WWA World Series Champion. Soven completed the task when he won Boardstock XII, being the first to ever sweep the whole series with 5 wins out of 5 events. I can’t recall such domination since someone went after Nancy Kerrigan’s knee over a decade ago [editor's note: distasteful---I know].

It’s not often you get to see quality footage of Ben Greenwood, Randall Harris and young ripper Jacob Valdez riding unless a feature film or spot on Fuel is released. Well you’re in luck because Alliance has the goods. Check out this short video [externallink] to see a few of the Quiksilver riders ripping up Canyon Lake, California.

What is RSS, and why should you care?

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

RSS FeedsOK, if you already know about RSS Feeds then you can move on to the next story. For the rest of you that are still reading this, I am going to possibly change the way you browse the internet forever. I am talking about RSS Feeds. Mastercraft Boats 2008

Yet another generous offer by a boat company allows us and then you access to pictures of Mastercrafts 2008 line of X series boats. Director of Marketing John Behling slipped us the link after an interview at surf expo so we could post almost every detail right down to the drain plug changes. Browse through their broad range of different size wake vessels, accessory changes, and graphic stylings. We even included photos of a non-X-Series model which is one of their salt water releases because we heard it is a pretty sweet wake boat.

Correct Craft adds CEO Blog

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Air NautiqueCorrect Craft looks to “revolutionize” the wake industry with the first ever CEO blog. I’m not sure if this is really a revolution or just an evolution. Eventually you figured the blogging world, which has been exploding in every other industry, would eventually trickle into wake. Of course, DailyWake is a blog, but I guess manufacturer blogsites are still somewhat rare.

Jeff House goes Slingshot

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Slingshot is gaining momentum. During the Surf Expo hoopla, a lot of readers have spoken out about Slingshot’s innovative products. Now the company gives them even more to talk about by signing Jeff House to their Pro team. Jeff joins Jeff McKee on an increasingly impressive team. There is no doubt in my mind that they are going to go after Jeff Weatherall and Jeff Heer next to complete their Jeff monopoly [editors note: OK, that was corny, I know].

Friday, October 12th, 2007

UGP Wakeskate ShoeUGP further solidifies itself in the wake market with yet another strong lineup of soft goods, shoes and accessories that are meant to get wet, not dirty. The cutting-edge clothing company has always had it’s roots planted deep into the BMX community, but it is nice to see that their wake line is just as comfortable, stylish, and innovative.
