Mastercraft Boats Booth – Surf Expo 2007

Mastercraft 2008 X Star GraphicsMastercraft had one of the biggest boat booths at Surf Expo showing the industry that they are still one of the top manufacturers. They were segregated with wake on one side of the aisle and waterskiing on the other showing further separation between the two sports than years past. There wasn’t much new at expo as far as models, but aesthetically the boats were even more dressed up than last. Director of Marketing John Behling sat down in front of this years cool graphics on the X Star to give us a small scoop on whats new for 2008.

Mastercraft 2008 X Star Board Racks Logistically it isn’t really possible for them to bring all the boats in their very broad line to expo so we just got an up close and personal look at this years X Star. Cosmetically the boat looked very impressive from the detail in the vinyl all the way to the new VDIG gauge in the middle of the dash which helps you control all the features in the boat easier. This gauge allows the driver to scroll through a list of menus to control the cruise, ballast, trim and so much more all in one cluster. It even gives the driver a visual depth gauge much like a fish finder would so you can see the lakes bottom and navigate safely. If you want you can scroll to some wakeboarding animations and watch team riders Rusty Malinoski and Andrew Adkison run through a couple of tricks. This gauge brings the inboard boat market closer to the car market with is digital navigation and control.

Mastercraft 2008 X Star Board DashMastercraft is yet another company to jump on the trim tab band wagon realizing that it is a great feature that helps get a heavy boat full of weight out of the water easier while saving gas and also giving the rider the ability to shape the wake. The vinyl has been upgraded to a new pattern giving the interior accents a metallic look and other details down to the drain plug were changed making it easier functionality wise. As we rummaged around the boat getting stills and noting the changes John suggested that we just go to their media site to look at all the features that are changed or new for 2008 and we took him up on the offer. Stay tuned to our site as we add another gallery story which will give you access to everything Mastercraft 2008. Thanks MC!
