X Games skateboarder still in hospital

X Games skateboarder Jake Brown walked away from maybe the nastiest fall ever when he plummeted 40+ feet during the X Games Skateboard Big Air competition at the Staples Center in LA [video]. Jake didn’t come out completely unscathed though, the skateboarder did suffer from both a bleeding lung and liver. The hospital is reporting that Jake has stopped bleeding from his lung, but is still bleeding from his liver. Jake is expected to make a full recovery, but the hospital plans to keep him there until the bleeding in his liver stops.

  1. That is one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen. It seemed like just when you thought it couldn’t get worse, they would show it in slow motion from a different angle and you were shocked all over again that he walked away from something like that. I wonder if Skateboard Big Air will be in the X Games next year. I know people get hurt at competitions all of the time, but I think a lot of people thought Jake was dead. I’m not sure if ESPN wants that type of publicity for their event. I guess time will tell.

  2. I’ve never seen someones shoes blow off their feet like that before. I cant believe they let him walk away from that?

  3. Dude, Jake Brown shouldn’t be alive, let alone walk away from that. I’ll stick with watersports.
