DailyWake

Here is the first DailyWake post! We’ve created this website/blog to be the leading news aggregate for the wake industry. We’ve been waiting for a website like this to come along for the past years, and after waiting we have decided to just create it ourselves. Our goal is for this to be your one-stop hub for all wake-related news. Another goal of this website is to bring the wake community together through comments, voting and other interactive features. This news blog contains many of the features you’ll find in other modern blog sites. Here is a rundown of the some of the features you’ll encounter here on DailyWake…

• Lightbox Image Viewer - Most images can be clicked on to view in a larger size. Try it out with the DailyWake logo above.
• Social Bookmarking Buttons - In the top-right corner of every post is a submit link to your favorite social bookmark. Social bookmarking is taking over how people find their content on the internet. We currently support submit buttons for Del.icio.us, Digg, Blinklist, Reddit, and Fark. If you would like us to add another button to the list, just let us know. If you have never heard of or participated in social bookmarking, I suggest you check out Digg (it’ll change your internet life).
• Advanced Tag Engine - What are tags? Tags are basically keywords. Every post in our blog contains tags (keywords) found in the story. We list all of the tags in a story towards the bottom of each post. We also have a “tag cloud” over on the right hand side of the website that shows the most popular tags used on DailyWake. The bigger the tag, the more it has been used on our website. Just click any tag (either from the tags at the bottom of each post or a tag from the tag cloud) and you will automatically be linked to all of our stories that contain that tag.
• User-Based Post Ratings - Just below the tag list in each post is the “post rating”. This will let you know how other DailyWake users liked the story. You can also rate a story by simply clicking the stars. The website’s top ranked pages are be located in the website sidebar.
• Email A Post - If you find a story that you think somebody else will enjoy then you can click the “Email this post” link at the bottom of the post. From there you can send your friend a direct link to that story.
• And Much More! - You’ll notice many other features as you browse around DailyWake. The website has many features in the sidebar including the most recent comments, top commentators, top posts, poll questions, search boxes, archives and more!
